Praise

·      The recent Mennonite team from Alberta, Canada, was kept busy with many projects, and we are thankful for all they were able to accomplish.  To read their story and see photos, go to www.andeanadventure.blogspot.com and click on “About Work & Witness.”  From that screen, click on “W&W Team Stories.”

Prayer Requests

·      Lift in prayer this weekend’s meeting of the 11 national ministry coordinators for Ecuador.  They will be meeting from Friday evening until Saturday afternoon.  There will be sessions for prayer, planning and equipping.
·      The Wrights wish to thank you, our prayer partners, for prayer regarding Al’s mother.  They have moved her to a Christian care center near their home, which allows many more relatives to visit her.  They continue to pray that God will watch over her during these final days.
·      Rev. James Higginbotham, former team member to Ecuador, sent in this request:  “Tests show I have a fast growing mass on one of my kidneys and a possible blockage of one of my arteries.  God answered prayers for my cancer before, and He can answer our prayers for this.”

·      The five new churches being planted by our Seminary staff and students.
·      Dwight & Carolyn Rich on Home Assignment in the Sates from 4/5-6/4.
·      Two of our Nazarene schools experiencing economic challenges.  The leadership teams need God’s wisdom and direction.
·      Work teams needed to build a house for Seminary Rector, Freddy Guerrero and his family on the Seminary campus.  We also need about $15,000 to complete the work.
·      The political tensions between the countries of the North Andean Field.
·      Al Wright’s sister who is undergoing cancer treatments.
·      Greg Hall’s father who is recovering from a stroke.
·      Marilyn Cummings who is recovering from cancer.
·      The Partners in Ministry sponsorship program for our Seminary students.
·      NILI: recruiting students and building relationships with partnering universities.
·      The leadership throughout Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela as they seek to do God’s will.

Praise

·      We praise God for the things accomplished—both spiritual and physical—through the recent NILI ministry trip.  You can read the entire story and see photos at www.andeanadventure.blogspot.com.
·      It was clear that God put together the recent Work & Witness team from Michigan and the Palora church in the jungle of Ecuador.  We are thankful for all the team achieved through construction and children’s ministries.  To read more, go to www.andeanadventure.blogspot.com.  Click on the “About Work & Witness” link on the right side of the screen.  From the new screen, click on the “W&W Team Stories” link to find the story.
·      The Colinas del Norte (North Hills) Church of the Nazarene is thankful for receiving a floor and roof, in part from a recent Work & Witness team from Alberta, Canada.  This recently organized church has been planted by Seminary staff and students, and has more than 100 people attending at this time.

Prayer Requests

·      Lift in prayer the five new churches being planted by our Seminary staff and students this year.
·      Please pray for a sound system for the Pisuli church in Ecuador, one of the church plants.
·      Adam Cummings, the great grandson of Al & Barbara Cummings, had the balloon procedure on his heart postponed due to a temperature.  Continue to pray for this small child.  The Cummings are NAF partners and are former Mission Corps volunteers in Ecuador and Colombia.
·      Al Wright’s mom has taken a turn for the worst in her health.  She has been in and out of the hospital struggling with pneumonia.  Now the family is making decisions about her care during these final days.  Please pray for God’s presence and guidance for the entire family.  The Wrights are former Mission Corps volunteers in Ecuador.

Prayer Requests

·      Continue to pray for the two Work & Witness teams currently working in Ecuador.  One team travels back to Michigan tomorrow.  The second one (from Alberta, Canada) will continue working here until 4/15.
·      Between the NILI program and the Work & Witness program, there is a great deal of traveling within Ecuador this weekend.  Please pray for traveling mercies.
·      The Seminary has recently enrolled several new students, some with families, that our living on our campus.  Some of our students sacrifice a great deal to come to Quito to study.  Pray for these students as they follow God’s calling to prepare themselves for ministry.

Praise

·     Praise God for the wonderful news shared at all of the recent District Assemblies on the NAF.  One of the many highlights includes the four leadership conferences given in Cali and Medellin, Colombia, and in Quito and Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Dr. Stan Toler’s presentation was on “How to Recruit and Develop Leaders in the Local Church.”  Dr. Christian Sarmiento’s presentation was “Leadership that Conquers (Wins).” All of these sessions were very well attended.  You can find more details and photos at www.andeanadventure.blogspot.com.

Prayer Requests

·     Lift in prayer Dwight & Carolyn Rich as they are on Home Assignment in the U.S. from 4/5 – 6/4.  Pray that God will use them as they speak in churches and for traveling safety.

·     Please pray for the two Work & Witness teams that are working in Ecuador for the next couple of weeks.  Pray for work safety and for God’s presence to be real among the team members and those they are serving.


  • A team from Michigan has arrived and is working on the church in Palora, Ecuador.  Jon & Shirley Fischer are leading this group.  They will be here working until 4/10.

  • A team from Alberta, Canada, arrives tonight, and they will be working on a couple of churches here in Quito. Dana & Sherry Howard are leading this group.  They will be working here until 4/15.

·     Adam, the 2-month-old great-grandson of Al & Barbara Cummings, has two heart valves that aren’t working properly.  On April 9, Adam will have a balloon procedure to try to correct the problem. If that doesn’t work, further surgery will be needed.  The family is asking for prayer that God will heal the situation through this balloon procedure.  The Cummings are NAF partners and have served in both Ecuador and Colombia.
