12/24/10

Praise

·      We praise God that Keith and Ruth Ann Morris accepted the position to teach at Alliance Academy in Quito as Mission Corps volunteers.  They will begin teaching in August 2011.  Pray for them as they deal with all of the logistics of moving to a new country and begin a new adventure!

Prayer Requests

·      Remember Carolyn Rich and her family in your prayers in the loss of her father, John Frazier, this week.  The funeral service is being held today at 10:00 a.m.

·      Pray for the Work & Witness team from Salem, VA, coming to work in several locations around Riobamba, Ecuador, from 12/27 – 1/3.   They will be involved in evangelism activities and light construction.

·      More news on Dallis Parker:  She will be having a mastectomy on 12/30 as this is considered to be the best way to keep the cancer from returning.  Please continue to lift her up in your prayers.

Continued Prayer Requests

·      Kim Haddon currently in the States raising support to return to the field, and also for her strengthened health.
·      The Howard family currently on Home Assignment until 1/9/11.
·      Please pray for a delicate situation between pastors on our Ecuador Coast District.
·      Two of our Nazarene schools.  The leadership teams need God’s wisdom and direction.  The Carcelén church is involved in legal matters and needs funds related to the closing of the school.
·      Campamento Jiraquito in Venezuela (our Nazarene camp) needs God’s protection from people who would like to take it over.
·      The six new churches being planted by our Seminary staff and students.
·      The Partners in Ministry sponsorship program for our Seminary students.

12/18/10

Praise

·      We are thankful for all of the “workers of the harvest” that God is using to fulfill his Great Commission.  From the leadership and administrative personnel at the Global Mission Center in Kansas and the South American office in Argentina, to the NAF missionaries and workers in our three countries of service, to our local churches . . . God is doing GREAT things, and we praise Him for all of His many blessings.  We’re also thankful for our partners (YOU) who undergird everything we do in prayer and financial support.

Prayer Requests

·      Pray for the Work & Witness team from Salem, VA, coming to work in Ecuador from 12/27 – 1/3.
·      The news continues to report unprecedented flooding in both Colombia and Venezuela, and some of our local churches have been affected.  Continue to pray for the Church of the Nazarene working in these areas as they provide relief to the increasing number of victims.
·      Continue to pray for the couple that is planning to come to Quito as Mission Corps volunteers to teach at Alliance Academy next year.  They have been offered a position, and now need to work out the many details.  Pray for God’s direction in their lives during this time.
·      Lift up in prayer our NAF missionaries as all of them are either traveling throughout the States or throughout Ecuador during the holidays.  Pray also for a time of rest and renewal.
·      Update on Dallis Parker:  The family is praising God because this week Dallis had a scan and the spot on her liver is very small.  Also, the breast lump cannot be felt and she had her last chemo treatment.  The oncologist told her they don't see patients with stage 4 breast cancer who are healthy like she is.  Her blood count is good and her liver functions are normal.  Pray for Dallis and her family as they determine the next steps of treatment.  The family knows that God is the reason for her good news, and values your prayers as they go forward.
