Praise

·     We praise the Lord for the National NYI Congress this past weekend.  60 young people gathered to be inspired and trained on how to reach "urban tribes."  These are some of the many cultures that are found around the world today among young people—youth who are often ignored and not reached with the gospel message.

New Prayer Requests

·     Please pray for the Ladies Ministry meeting taking place this weekend on the Seminary campus.  Around 140 ladies have gathered together for Friday and all-day Saturday.  It is part of our new Disciples in Ministry program where women are being trained to minister to women.  


 ·     Please pray for Rev. Hernán Puga as he returns to Ecuador from Venezuela.  He has preached at two of our Venezuela camps during the past two weeks for adolescents and the family camp.

·     Please pray for Rev. Jean David Larochelle as he will travel from Ecuador to Venezuela on Monday to preach at the Venezuelan Youth Camp next week.  Jean David has been sick this week and we want to pray for God's touch upon him physically and then as he ministers to our youth in Venezuela.

Praise
·      From Dwight Rich:  We thank the Lord for Sherri Hall and her special ministry to our North Andean Field and Partnership over the past 6 years with our weekly prayer email and our www.andeanadventure.blogspot.com.  We have not made the transition to a new prayer coordinator yet, and Sherri has graciously agreed to help us a little while longer.  We will be dropping back to every other week until our new coordinator is ready.  Thank you, Sherri!!

New Prayer Requests

·      Pray for the Bill Bahr family of 4 as they return to the USA on August 2.  They have been studying in our NILI Professional program for the past two months.
·      Pray for Keith and Ruth Ann Morris as they come to serve as Mission Corps with a one-year contract.  They will be teaching at the Alliance Academy International, which will give our missionary kids a discount.  They will arrive on August 4.
·      Let's remember Harrison and Jennifer Guaman who have just returned from their honeymoon.  They will be getting back into the swing of their work.
·      Please pray for Vincent and Alyson Cork, Nazarene Extreme volunteer missionaries to Cali, Colombia.  They will arrive in Quito this week on August 2 to attempt to acquire their visa to be able to work in Colombia with the church.  Their assignment is to coordinate Work & Witness teams who will be arriving to work on the new 8000-seat sanctuary.  They have tried once before for the visa but were denied.
·      Lift up our 3 camps in Venezuela during August.  There is an adolescent camp, youth camp, and family camp.  This is a yearly highlight where over 1000 Nazarenes will participate.  Many of our present leaders were called to ministry in these camps.  Rev. Hernán Puga from Ecuador will be preaching for the adolescent and family camps.  Rev. Jean David Larochelle will be preaching for the youth camp.

Editor’s personal note:  It has been my great privilege and blessing to write the NAF prayer mailing every week, and I’m sad that this is my last one.  The mailing will be continued, so keep praying!  Prayer is the foundation of the NAF ministries.

Praise

·      The Halls appreciate your prayers.  They have accepted a pastorate in the St. Louis area and their first Sunday is 7/24!  God’s perfect timing and direction have been evident every day in their lives.

·      We thank the Lord for the wonderful Work and Witness team from Long Beach, CA, and for their great contributions to our Seminary campus with special mention for the remodeling of the chapel.  Please pray for the team as they return to the USA on Saturday, July16.

New Prayer Requests
·      Clara Meza's father, Marco Figueroa, was suffering with prostate cancer, which has now spread through his whole body.  Doctors say there is nothing else they can do and have sent him home to spend his last days there.  Clarita travels today to spend a few days with him before the Meza family leaves for two months furlough in the USA.  Please remember Clara and her family in this difficult time.

·      The Meza family will be on furlough in the USA for two months starting on June 11.  Let's pray for safety in their travels and God's blessing on the services.

·      The quarterly Board of Regents meets at our Seminary on Tuesday, June 7.  Pray for God’s presence and guidance as decisions are made.

·      Dwight Rich and Jon Fischer travel to Venezuela for National Board meetings from 6/9-12.  Pray for their safety and for these leadership meetings.

·      Carolyn Rich will speak at several upcoming women’s retreats in Riobamba, Guayaquil and Cuenca, Ecuador.  Grace Guerrero, Shirley Fischer and Sherry Howard will travel with her to some of the meetings.  Pray for Carolyn’s preparation and for all of the women as they travel.

Praise
·      Update on NAF partner Marie Cotterill:  She came through surgery very well.  The doctors are confident they got the entire tumor.  The lymph nodes were all clear, so none of those had to be removed.  Praise the Lord!
New Prayer Requests
·      Missionaries Stan & Sherri Hall have made the difficult decision to leave the mission field due to health reasons.  They need your prayers as they begin the process of dealing with the logistics of leaving Ecuador along with seeking God's direction for their lives.
·      Pray for our two MNU interns, Aubrey and Alisha, who arrive in Ecuador on 6/1 to work for the summer.
·      Anderson Godoy, Seminary graduate and regional missionary for SAMRO, is called to be a missionary in Asia someday.  To prepare for this venture, he wants to study at the Nazarene Seminary in the Philippines.  Now he is trying to raise funds for a flight to Philippines in June.  Recently, he had financial setback when he was robbed while traveling and everything on him was stolen.  Pray that God will open up the way for him to get to the Philippines so he can begin his studies.
·      Al Wright’s sister, Anita, had a total knee replacement this week.  While in the hospital, a spot on her liver was found.  This is especially troublesome since she is a breast cancer survivor.  The doctors are waiting until she has healed from the knee surgery before proceeding with any further treatment.  Pray for her quick recovery from the surgery and for peace while she waits.

·      Jon & Shirley Fischer’s oldest daughter, Michelle, is graduating this weekend from MidAmerica Nazarene University.  We celebrate with the family and congratulate Michelle on this accomplishment.  She is engaged to be married this fall.  Pray for her and her fiancé, Josiah, as they embark on this new journey.
