Praise

·      We praise God that missionaries Dwight & Carolyn Rich and Dana Howard were able to attend the wonderful Iberoamerica Conference for the South America Region in Arequipa, Peru.  The conference began with an intense time of training.  The regional goal is to train 250,000 people in the next 4 years in 11 different ministry areas.  These sessions were well attended and received.  Another important event was the Love Extreme evangelistic service.  Over 10,000 people attended and many accepted Christ as their Savior.  For the complete story, go to http://www.ncnnews.com/nphweb/html/ncn/article.jsp?id=10009351

·      We praise the Lord that in a couple of weeks the new home for the Seminary president should be finished so that they can move in.  Thanks to everyone who is making this possible by helping us fund the construction.

Prayer Requests

·      Please pray for Luis, the son of Luis and Clara Meza (missionaries to Colombia), as he will be moving to the States to begin college, probably at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  This will be a big transition for the entire family.

Prayer for Summer Teams

·      A Pasadena, TX, team will work on the Sierra Centro District Center in Riobamba from 7/2-12.  Jon & Shirley Fischer are the missionaries leading this team.

·      A team from Calgary, Canada, will work on the Costa District Center in Guayaquil as well as two churches and hold some children’s ministry events.  They will be working from 7/15-27.  Dana & Sherry Howard are the missionaries leading this team.

·      A Jesus Film Harvest Partners team will hold Jesus Film showings and visit churches planted through the Jesus Film ministry in Cali, Colombia, from 7/17-21 and then in Ecuador from 7/22-27.  Dwight & Carolyn Rich are the missionaries leading this team.

·      A KidzTown team is coming August 8-21 to work in the Sierra Centro District (Riobamba area) holding various children’s ministry events and equipping national leaders in children’s ministry.  Dana & Sherry Howard are the missionaries leading this team.

Continued Prayer Requests

·      The Hall family on Home Assignment until 8/18.  They are praying for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to enable them to communicate God’s message effectively to all ages.  Pray that God will use them to help others recognize a call to missions whether that means on a local or global level.

·      Pray for the Fischer family and especially their daughter, Krista, as she prepares to move to the States to attend MNU in the fall.  The family will travel from 7/21-8/17 to get Krista settled.

·      Campamento Jiraquito in Venezuela (our Nazarene camp) needs God’s protection, and the leadership needs wisdom when dealing with government officials.

·      The new churches being planted by our Seminary staff and students.

·      Two of our Nazarene schools.  One is closing which is requiring much legal work.  The leadership teams need God’s continued wisdom and direction.

·      The political tensions between the countries of the North Andean Field.

·      Marilyn Cummings who is recovering from cancer.

·      The Partners in Ministry sponsorship program for our Seminary students.

·      NILI: recruiting students and building relationships with partnering universities.

·      The leadership throughout Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela as they seek to do God’s will.

Praise


·     God answered our prayers regarding the two teams that needed to drive by the active volcano to return to Quito.  In addition, God impacted the team member’s lives.  Check out the story and photos of the recent Mount Vernon Nazarene University and NILI team at www.andeanadventure.blogspot.com.

Prayer Requests

·     Lift in prayer our Campamento Jiraquito in Venezuela.  The government has recently taken away a neighbor's property, and government officials have shown up at our campground asking questions and for documentation.  They said they would be back.  Pray that everything is in order and that they would leave our property alone.

·     Pray for the team of youth from Grand Rapids (MI) Fellowship who will work on the Atapo Santa Elena church in the Riobamba area from 6/11-19.  Jon & Shirley Fischer are the missionaries leading this team.

·     Be in prayer for the meetings in Arequipa, Peru, next week.  The week kicks off with Field Strategy Coordinator meetings and national Ministry Coordinator meetings, followed by Iberoamerica (a holiness/evangelism conference).  Pray for God's protection in travel and for His blessing on the meetings.

·     Pray for Stan, Sherri, Mary and Landon Hall as they prepare for Home Assignment. They will be in the States from 6/24-8/18.  They are praying for a smooth transition of duties before they leave, traveling safety in the air and on the road, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit to enable them to communicate God’s message effectively to all ages.  Pray that God will use them to help others recognize a call to missions whether that means on a local or global level.

·     Update on Andres Guerrero, son of the Seminary Rector:  Andres will be in a cast for 1 1/2 months and then will have 6 months of therapy.  Pray for him as he heals from surgery and prepares for examinations to graduate from high school.
